Kanava Centers

Kanava Youth plans to spread its activities in all regions of the central/south zones in Somalia. Currently, Kanava has four centers namely; Mogadishu Center, which is the head quarter, Kismayo Center, Baidabo Center, and Beletweyn Center which was recently established. Also, Kanava anticipates the establishment of two more centers in Marka in Lower Shabelle and Buale in Middle Jubba before the end of the year 2006.

Mogadishu Center:

Kanava Mogadishu was officially established on the 3rd of September 2002.

Activities:

The activities of Kanava Youth in Mogadishu include the following:

Rehabilitation programs.
Vocational & skill training programs.
Capacity building programs.
Somali adult literacy program.
Non-Formal Education.
Sport activities (Football, Volleyball, Tenis, etc).
Peace & reconciliation programs.
Health awareness programs.
Child protection programs.
Teaching English language.
Sewing.
Arts.
Music.
Computer courses.

Kismayo Center:

Kanava Kismayo was established on the 21st of March 2003.

Activities:

The activities of Kanava Youth in Kismayo include the following:

Rehabilitation programs.
Vocational & skill developing programs.
Capacity building programs.
Somali adult literacy program.
Non-Formal Education.
Sport activities (Football, Volleyball, Tenis, etc).
Peace & reconciliation programs.
Health awareness programs.
Teaching English language.
Training on electricity & plumbing skills.
Computer courses.

Baidoa Center:

Kanava Baidoa is officially opened on the 1st of July 2004.

Activities:

The activities of Kanava Youth in Baidoa include the following:

Rehabilitation programs.
Vocational & skill developing programs.
Capacity building programs.
Somali adult literacy program.
Non-Formal Education.
Sport activities (Football, Volleyball, Tennis, etc).
Peace & reconciliation programs.
Health awareness programs.
Child protection programs.
Family life programs.
Teaching English language.
Sewing
Computer courses.

Beletweyn Center:

Kanava Beletweyn is recently opened and it started its operations on the 1st of January 2006.

Activities:

Since its inception in January 2006, Kanava Youth Cente carries out a lot of activities such youth rehabilitation programs, sport activities, non-formal education, capacity building seminars, etc.
