Our mission is to empower youth and vulnerable communities in Somaliland through education, skills development, and inclusive social programs that promote long-term economic opportunity and community resilience.

Education Programs

These programs provide essential support for both infrastructure and resources in remote areas.

Human rights and Gender Empowerment

The organization, through its programs, actively supports activities that champion gender rights and the rights of women and children. Additionally, it promotes the advancement of gender equality, which is essential for fostering a healthy society. This commitment spans various areas, including reducing poverty and enhancing the health, education, protection, and overall well-being of both girls and boys.

Agriculture and Food Security

The organization supports smallholder farmers by providing essential farm and equipment, irrigation solutions, and post-harvest services. This includes effective storage methods designed to minimize post-harvest losses.

Primary Health Care

The organization under this program supports the delivery of essential health services. This includes organizing village medical camps, providing immunizations, supplying medicine for common illnesses, and supporting community health clinics and service.

Women and Youth Empowerment

This project aims to empower small women and youth enterprises by providing financial support to launch new businesses and sustain existing ones. Additionally, it promotes women's skill development through support for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and other training programs.

Water and Sanitation

The organization actively enhances access to clean water through its WASH programs by digging community boreholes and constructing latrines. These efforts aim to minimize instances of open defecation and promote better sanitation in the community

Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Protection

Assist communities in adapting to climate change by raising awareness about its causes and effects. Implement mitigation measures to reduce drought and support farmers through climate-smart agricultural practices, including the provision of drought-resistant seedlings.

Community and institutional capacity building

The organization offers a range of training and capacity-building programs aimed at empowering community-based organizations (CBOs), women's groups, and youth organizations. These programs focus on enhancing institutional management and practices.

Protection and Psychosocial Support (GBV)

Through this program, the organization drives change by tackling the root causes and factors contributing to violence against women and girls on a population level. We develop men-focused campaigns aimed at combating gender violence and provide essential support for GBV victims through access to basic healthcare and psychosocial assistance.

Community Development

Supporting vulnerable families, promoting youth inclusion, and fostering community resilience are at the heart of our mission. We believe by providing resources and opportunities, we can empower families facing challenges and create an environment where all young people feel valued and included. Our initiatives focus on building strong connections within the community, ensuring that everyone has access the support they need to thrive. Together, we can create a more resilient united community for generations to come.

Youth Skills & Employment Programmes

Vocational training, along with entrepreneurship support and employability skills, empowers Somaliland's youth. programs equip young individuals with practical skills essential for job readiness while fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. By doing so, we enable them to contribute positively to their communities and the economy.

Nutrition Program

The Organization offers a comprehensive nutrition program that includes Community Mobilization, which features active screening and referral services. Outpatient Therapeutic Programs (OTP) and Targeted Supplementary Programs (TSFP) deliver both treatment and preventive measures to combat malnutrition in the community. Additionally, Stabilization Centers provide vital care for severe cases, ensuring that those in critical need receive the support they require. These initiatives are crucial for monitoring and improving the nutritional health of vulnerable populations.

Poverty alleviation programs through empowerment of small-scale
farmers to promote the availability, stability and access to food.
Rehabilitation of Somali youth and developing positive values and ensuring that all young Somalis have a healthy future and effective education.
Developing vocational and skill abilities of Somali youth in various sectors to prepare professional youth leaders with high qualities and capacity of leadership.
Illiteracy elimination through sustainable, qualitative and accessible basic education and vocational training for every gender.
Improving public health through health awareness activities and promote mother and child care health centers and MCH’s.
Raising community awareness and capacity building regarding to selfreliance, influencing decision making process, ownership, and democratization and strengthening civil society of all genders.

Kanava Youth Development Organization

KYDO has excelled in the following areas and sufficient potential, skills and experience to undertake any skills mentioned above. It has also developed personnel as well as other resources for their successes. These areas are: FSL, Protection, WASH, Child frame recovery, counseling and resettlement, vocational training for disadvantaged children and youth, community mobilization and training and provisional of sustainable credit to needy families to sustain the resettled, reintegrated children and youth after training and rehabilitation

Management and Financial and Systems Control

Financial Reporting: The organization does not only have a financial control system but also conducts Systematic and period financial reporting as agreed by different donors. Internal controls: The organization also has an effective control system where only after finalizing these, Purchase order is written under the authorization of the director from there the procurement office startthe procurement process. Audits: External audit is always sent by the donor or the board to ensure things went straight. Logistics: The organization has warehouses where food and non-food items are stored. Inaddition, the organization has trained logisticians and store keepers.
